I must reiterate.
When the Red Sox lost Game 3 of the ALCS to the New York Spankees by a score of 19-8, I said the only possible atonement was a miraculous 8 game winning streak. I didn't believe for a minute that I'd ACTUALLY FUCKING GET IT. There is just too much excitment, now and over the next week or so, for me to really put how I feel into words here. But I do realize it is just a game - don't worry, I don't take it that seriously. But I am very happy and curious to see how things will be around here. (0) comments Thursday, October 21, 2004
O_O
When I asked for a miracle comeback, I didn't think I'd actually get one. Well, I actually asked for a "miraculous 8 game win streak." So, we're halfway there :) And thanks to the Spankees for the WORST POSTSEASON COLLAPSE IN BASEBALL HISTORY. HA! *is happy now* (0) comments Sunday, October 17, 2004
Thanks a lot, Pedro Martinez.
Your team goes on this wonderful late-season run, and sweep the Angels in the ALDS. Then, for some reason, the Sox just up and roll over for the Spankees. And now, thanks to your cute little soundbite from a couple weeks ago, we the people of Red Sox Nation have to put up with "Who's Your Daddy?" all fucking winter long. Damn, and we thought last winter was tough... Your only possible atonement: a miraculous 8 game winning streak. C'mon, the Pats have won 19 in a row (closing in on 20)...you guys can make at least four. The funny thing about all this is the huge amount of hype made over the ALCS last week. All these stories about how the Curse isn't really real, how it was fabricated over the last 20 years as an excuse to ease the pain of last time. And while I'm about 24 hours premature, I swear, if things continue on this trend, I think I really will start to believe in the Curse, that something not-of-this-world is really responsible. How else could the Sox just suck like that? What other explination fits so perfectly? I don't know who's going to be harder on us: New Yorkers, or ourselves. And bear in mind, I'm not a real die-hard Red Sox fan. A fan, yes, but I'm not going to do anything drastic. But it's really difficult not to get swept up in it all. I knew there was going to be a riot this time of the year, one way or the other. Funny how we've got one team that does nothing but win (and we love you for it, really), but the team we really want to win, just loses at the most inopportune times. I don't think I'd so upset about this right now if we didn't lose 19-8 in Game 3. (0) comments Monday, October 04, 2004
New feature! Check out my new Sketch"book" at the forums!
Why do this, you ask? Well, it's a way to appease more of my fans, but me also. I still want to keep the comic on hiatus, and continue to work to get that up and running on a regular basis. But I also want to update with something. I don't want to fill the comic itself with days or weeks of filler stuff, so I figured I'd move it to the forums. Then I had an evil thought. I'll make the sketchbook a members-only area, to encourage participation in the forums! Brilliant! If it doesn't work out, then hey, I delete the board and no one gets hurt. But then again, there's no real reason why it would fail, since it's just me posting doodles. Nobody has to reply...they just have to sign up to view them. (And signing up is FREE, in case you're worried about that.) (0) comments |
