A few random thoughts in a blog dump for ya... In my credit card statement this month was a little flyer. Nothing unusual, there's usually 2 or 3. I still dislike them, but that's not the point. Anyway, what is unusual is what it's advertising - the TV show "Love Monkey" on CBS. It seems weird that they would include an ad for a TV show in my credit card statement. I mean, I can understand why...the show is produced at Sony Pictures (and my card is one of those that earns points for Sony stuff), and the show needs all the publicity it can get. Well, not really, since I got it last week, and as far as I know the show's been cancelled for at least 3 weeks now. I also read a blurb that the NHL team the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim is going to change its name for the 2007 season to the Anaheim Ducks. Which, to me, completely defeats the purpose of naming the team the Mighty Ducks to begin with. The team is named after the movie, and in the movie the kids call themselves the Mighty Ducks because simply "the Ducks" was the lamest of all the available mascots. Is the NHL team trying to distance itself from association with the movie? Is "The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim" just a weird phrase to be using constantly (apparently not for the last, what, 10 years at least)? And what is it with Anaheim and their weird naming-of-sports-teams complex? Last I heard they're still fighting to restore it from "the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" - which is stupider than the Mighty Ducks. This is going a while back... Some time ago, the comic strip "Peanuts" mentioned "Peppermint" Patty's full name...I'd type it here, but I forget off the top of my head and I don't want to say the wrong thing. I just thought it was weird to see one of their last names, especially after so many years. I mean, other than the Browns and Van Pelts. Is Shroeder his last name? What was "Pigpen"'s name? Does "5" have a last name? Does anybody else remember "5"? :) Otherwise, steady as she goes. I plan on updating my fanart section at some point, plus I think the cast page is due for another rehaul.
